@Pixificial I see the exclusionary nature of #gemini as a plus. I'm not so arrogant as to think my writing is *that* important that everyone needs easy access to it, and frankly I would rather deal with folks that meet a certain minimal technical ability/desire.Think back to the pre-cheap Internet days. Only enthusiasts had modems, and they had to work to get them up and running and connect to, say, a #bbs.Gemini is a space for enthusiasts. When Drew stopped posting to Gemini he mentioned (IIRC) that most people on Gemini were only talking about Gemini itself. I don't think that's entirely accurate, but even if so, it's still worth existing for its own sake. There are some excellent Gemini capsules out there that aren't mirrored on the web. They would lose their uniqueness if they were just another blog.

@GLFC I find all of your points to be valid, but for Gopher. You are talking about a major use case for Gopher. Why not gopher then?

@msavoritias @GLFC Mandatory TLS is not great either. From what I know it becomes ugly to serve Gemini over Tor because of it. And Tor is amongst the best and most commonly used methods for serving encrypted Gopherholes, it should be seamless.

@Pixificial The simple reason is that I never really used it before and it wasn't on my radar when the Gemini craze kicked off.
