Why, as I get older - or perhaps just more experienced? - do I find I dislike fancy GUIs and prefer to use a terminal?I enjoy using mutt for email. This is posted via toot.I rather like browsing the web via lynx. And so on.

@neil I miss using Mutt for email. Had to give up when I realised everybody was insisting on sending HTML instead of text.Maybe I should try it again.

@neil I think it is just the simplicity of it. The lack of distractions / clutter.Sure, it takes a while to get to grips with the keybindings, but once done, things really are a breeze.

@neil @gothnbass I read email in Emacs/gnus. HTML mail is rendered using lynx, links, or whatever tool you specify. On the rare occasion that this fails, I'll open the message in Firefox.
