Am I the only one seeing disgusting anti-trans toots? I mean, that sh*t was violent & disgusting.I blocked AND reported both the ones I saw. I’m concerned why they showed up on my timeline bc neither one of them were people who followed me.Do I need to switch instances? They weren’t from my instance.

@SaraNSmit I see them too. It looks like they've just targeted popular hashtags. If any are on your follow list, you'll probably see the posts. I think it's possible to bloack a whole instance, but you would hope that the instances we're all attached to would take some qick action based on Mastodon's basic policies.

@grahamefleming they don’t follow me and I wasn’t following them. Thanks, though, for saying something. I thought something was wrong with my instance (they were not from my instance, tho). I just don’t know enough about the Fediverse. But I’ve been blocking and reporting. A lot of anti-Semitism as well. Pure troll stuff, but absolutely disgusting.I think we’re seeing it bc they’re flooding hashtags.

@SaraNSmit It is infuriating ...and a real shame, because its obvious that (in the main) the people who have moved on to Mastodon are just human beings who are prepared to give other human beings the respect and acceptance they deserve.I just reiterate that we all signed up to Mastodon's policies when we created our accounts, so I hope the instance controllers act quickly as I'm sure they've seen it as well.
