If you're not sweating in your winter boots in the summer; if you're not trying to make your sneakers work in weather they weren't meant for; all your shoes will last longer. Not to mention that having multiple pairs of shoes reduces the number of days per year that you wear them, which increases their longevity by default. Oh yeah and if you dress appropriately with different styled shoes for different times of year, you'll also get wahmens like @OceanRedux thinking that you look good and have your shit together, because guess what, you do.

My work boots are at least 15 years old, I bought them so long ago I don't remember the year.The solution is not collecting shoes, the solution is to actually buy good shoes. Stop shopping at Walmart.If you have specific local conditions or weather that need more, sure, that's fine. But I'm not buying 3 pairs of sneakers just to have them match my shirts better then pretend it's for longevity.

1. Weird2. Most of us own multiple shoes but for practical reasons. Ive have shelltoes that are 2 decades old. I have running shoes, i have work boots, i even have weightlifgting shoes, but i dont have a compulsion to collect is all.

When I see shoes that are all bright, angular and gaudy all I can think of is like costumes from Photon or something. To me they look ridiculous so I call them moon boots. I've just hiked and walked so much of my life I've got that nigger leg strength. I'm not exaggerating when I say I've 1,000lbs on a leg press and I would never do it again nor would I ever recommend it because in hindsight it was reckless and stupid and I was literally momentarily paralyzed for the effort, literally rolled off the machine into the floor and couldn't move my legs, but by God I fucking did it.
