Never forget, multimodal streets (aka “complete streets”) are simply more efficient, because they move, hold & serve more people within the same space. Whether you think streets are just for moving people, or are for a LOT more, they’re just better.Via NACTO #citymakingmath #cities #streets #CompleteStreets #cars #bikes #transit

@BrentToderian Your pics assume that bikes and buses can't be on the same road with cars, of course, they do this now so that's not true.Furthermore, you assume maximization of the traffic, which is rarely ever the case.

@elliswyatt @BrentToderian Which road layout would you rather bike on? Better yet, which road would you let your eight-year-old daughter ride on? And when riding the bus wouldn't you rather not have car traffic blocking your way? We're not maximizing car traffic. We're maximizing people traffic. Transit and cyclists should always get priority. That way we give people a choice to get around in other ways besides driving. Choice is the key.

@jwinstonsf @BrentToderian The car will continue to the destination, the bus makes stops every block. It's not the car blocking the way.Why would an 8 year old be riding on a road with 1100 cars an hr at all? That's just asinine.

@jwinstonsf @BrentToderian Indeed, one of is an ableist/elitist who believes everyone can ride a bike to work/has showers/has a climate that is conducive to riding and has a romantic idea of cycling stemming back to the 19th century ... the other lives in the real 21st century world.
