       So, quick primer on post privacy: public; it’s visible to everyone and it’s also on timelines; unlisted, it’s visible to anyone who views the conversation and not on timelines; followers only, pretty much what it says; mentions only, the people you mention, kind of like a direct message. You can set the default privacy in preferences and I believe most apps have this setting, too. On Hometown instances, you can also choose whether to post locally or publicly. I always, always, check each post on Mastodon. #Mastodon
