Since I last built a static site, Aptana has been killed by Axway and is no longer in development. BlueGriffon claims to be open source but requires purchases to enable many of its features. What is a good Linux static site builder I can use to knock together some pages about Minecraft?

@rafial I had in mind something more like Dreamweaver, a WYSIWYG site builder, but thanks

@rafial @WanderingBeekeeper The thing that has me jazzed about it is that Jekyll is a publication target, you can do your template design on silex, and then use jekyll for CMS. kind of a nice way to split the difference.

@pgv @rafial Doesn't appear to be a way to import an existing website that was built outside of Silex. I've been through the help doc and the website. Haven't found any instructions on how to take over a website with the tool.

@WanderingBeekeeper @rafial Yeah, it looks to me like you have to start from scratch too. OTOH, it’s not a direct HTML editor either – it generates HTML from some other internal representation (serialized as JSON). All that is to say: you can write a webpage anyway you want, it seems to me to be a needlessly hard problem to parse that and infer which blocks you meant to be editable; so I’m not super shocked they don’t import arbitrary websites.
