Good evening, I’ve just deployed the first beta version of Mostr: a bridge between Nostr and the Fediverse.More info here: https://soapbox.pub/blog/mostr-fediverse-nostr-bridge/Source code: https://gitlab.com/soapbox-pub/mostrThe bridge is an ActivityPub server and Nostr client, written from the ground up in TypeScript with Deno. It generates RSA keypairs and pubkeys deterministically by combining the username with a SECRET_KEY. Sqlite is needed to store a reverse-lookup of Nostr to AP IDs, but otherwise it mostly works off the Web Cache API and the Nostr relay. I wrote nearly everything and gained lots of knowledge about cryptography.Enjoy.

Was waiting for somebody to create a Fediverse and Nostr bridge. It'll be nice to be able to use Soapbox as a nostr client as well. Fitting that the dev of my favorite fedi software is the one to get it done.I would have called it Fostr tho. As in fostering a relationship. Fostering nostr into our Fediverse family.

Yes, I understand why. I think it's really bad that with Activypub, an admin can prevent you from taking your identity and move. Nostr gives more control.

@mcread Deno is 10x better than Node.js. If you’d use Node, Deno is better. That said both Node and Deno are not designed to utilize all your CPU cores, so you have to think about vertical scaling in ways other languages like Elixir don’t make you think.
