Sometimes, when I'm feeling nostalgic, I take out my notes from school and laugh at how much I've forgotten about things I used to love. I always took notes, but I didn't always take them well! Still, the physical notes just take me back in a way digital notes don't. I sometimes have fleeting thoughts of going back to writing on paper. I never do, but the thought crosses my mind.

@nicole it’s so tempting to go back to analogue with a nicely balanced fountain pen, but I can’t search it as easy, and mistakes on the page although authentic detracts from the nostalgia.

@nicole the sensation of a properly weighted pen, and the sensation of nib on paper can really be something. I’d like to go back to using them, maybe I need to try my hand at a deliberate practice of penmanship with calligraphy or just refining letterforms in my writing.

@nicole My high school journals -- handwritten, in blank books -- are a treasure to me. One thing about analog books: they linger. Had I written all those accounts in some kind of digital format, I'm sure they would have languished on some kind of outdated media or another ... and would have been lost to time. Hmmm. Now you have me eyeing my gigabytes of digital notes and wondering, "What's going to happen to all this?"
