If China where to provide /lethal/ arms to Russia for their illegal war in Ukraine I really think companies should reconsider buying / producing in China in the futureWouldn't be a bad thing to become less dependent on China, I think

@stux we kunnen heineken vragen hoe het bedrijfswereld hier naar kijkt. Ze staan immers bekend als een multinational met stevig geankerde principes en moreel kompas.

@stux Iโm a big fan of voting with my money and buying local when possible. If enough of us do that, itโd help incentivize companies to move supply chains.

@stux Which is why they be only playing at it.Climate Change will make global supply chains problematic for other reasons. Climate whiplash will assail economies every year, pulling down infrastructure or sidelining it and maiming productive capacity as extremes make them either not fit for purpose or overwhelm them. Investment requires a certain level of stability. That idea is dead.

@stux I believe a growing number of European and American companies have transferred their factories to Vietnam or India to minimize possible risks of being too dependent on China.

@stux We are hooked on cheap products. Corporations get rich. So it will be a tough sell. Made in America is cost prohibitive for some.

@stux I think all countries need to become less dependent on China. Back in the day, we could purchase Canadian-made, or clothing from other countries. Yes, we paid more, but the quality was there. You could wear the clothing for years before it wore out.
