       @vk3xb I enjoyed your article. I would push back against the premise that governments provide almost free access to the valuable resource of radio spectrum. Governments regulate the use of the spectrum through penalty of fines/imprisonment. 73's!

       @pesce05 Yeah that is a good point.  What I am seeing internationally is most Governments seeking to reduce their involvement in regulation of our bands.  Australia for example is looking to implement differing licensing regime and the initial proposal was to move to a self policing system.  This has been updated due to push back.  I am personally troubled by this whole question as I am generally for Governments getting out of their lives.

       @pesce05 I would also add that from what I have seen over the past few years within our midst are people who have no business with access to our hobby.  We remove drivers licences when people drink drive or speed excessively, we as a hobby have failed to remove people who have stalked, harassed and generally caused harm to others with our hobby.  What I am seeing in VK is the regulators going hands off rather than enforcing.  Great discussion we need to have.
