Dear Mastodon users :mastogrin: using a mobile app with push messages via #UnifiedPush :Do you still receive push messages? Has it stopped working for you recently? Do you remember when? Which UnifiedPush distributor (e.g., #ntfy) and server are you using? (For me it stopped working recently. I'm using Fedilab. I don't know if it stopped working with the recent Mastodon update to 4.10, ntfy update to 2.0 or a new Fedilab release. I have tried several ntfy servers, none of them works.)

@nichu42 @unifiedpush @apps @Tusky I have found the issue ! Ntfy rejects requests to UnifiedPush endpoints if there is an "Authorization" header. And mastodon server sends one , because it is part of the *legacy* webpush specifications.

@Quilly Yes, correct. The ntfy app as well as Fedilab and Tusky are working fine. But you need to change to a server that has version 2.10 installed, delete the existing subscriptions in your ntfy app and re-enable push notifications in your mastodon app.

@Quilly You can switch to ntfy.adminforge.de or (temporarily) switch to staging.ntfy.sh - both run version 2.10. Let me know if you need help.

The standard server ntfy.sh has received the 2.1.0 update last night, so people using staging.ntfy.sh are advised to return to the standard server.I have received feedback that it might be necessary to re-subscribe. So if push messages still don't work for you, please turn off push messages in your mastodon app (e.g., #Tusky or #fedilab), open the #ntfy app and delete the up* topic(s). @moffintosh For Tusky: Just delete the topic(s) in the ntfy app and then open Tusky again. A new topic subscription will be created automatically.For Fedilab: Switch to pull notifications (fetch at interval), delete the topic(s) in ntfy app and open Fedilab again. Switch back to push notifications and select io.heckel.ntfy
