Most countries have a "population pyramid". But Russia's adult population is more like a turnip, with very few young people and a middle aged bulge. Not a good structure if you are fighting a war Pic is from 2020, before mass emigration, war casualties etc

@johnquiggin Russia also has a horrifying loss of about 1/8 of 45-49yo men rising to about 1/4 of the 55-65s. So a big hokd in the nob-mobilised workforce too. Probably mostly due to alcohol.
