@PodunkPotato @alex the push is to adapt something that has ~4 million people a bridge is fine sure. i wont be involved with nostr and i will not put any effort into it. if alex wants to include it in soapbox ill fork it. i dont like it, i dont like where its going and i don't want it involved with poast its like cloudflare's wildebeast but more prone to failure. any private message ever posted on nostr is available by anyone regardless of their knowledge of the keys to decrypt because they were all sent normally without encryption. its not good.

@victor @alex @bot I assume that was the entire reason for them not going with the fediverse. The fediverse is difficult for them to monetize, and too many people run instances for fun, but with the whole paid relay and zap thing they'll have an easier time making money off it.

@bot @victor @alex It's not so much that it's currently profitable, but being integrated with the lightning network and having paid services, it'll be much easier to make profitable in the future.Regardless, social media is bad enough, in gamefying peoples opinions, making everyone think along the lines of the lowest common denominator (e.g., Reddit upvotes). Adding money to that game via zaps can only make it worse.
