@captainmarvelfan1 I dont know what the range of my provider is, but if it reaches you, Ill put a chip down for Fidium Fiberoptic. They are pretty gud, cheap, 0 issues in 6 months and no contract.fidiumfiber.com

@captainmarvelfan1 Oh boy I thought Inwas rural lamo. Okay well taper expectations then I suppose. If it does reach you though, I say A+ service so far, and if ping means much to you I went from 42ms to 12ms

@captainmarvelfan1 i used to live in a rural no-cell, no-cable area. the only options are wait for starlink or wait for spectrum's rural expansion program that they're gonna milk for the next 10 years

@supercommiebros64 Starlink tells me I can get the "Best Effort" option right now but the trim and proper "Residential" isn't until Winter 2023. I don't want to gamble with the "Best Effort" but seeing the other alternatives makes me want to just take the shot.

@captainmarvelfan1 i would take it. the main thing with starlink is latency and the lack of data caps. you're still gonna get blackouts, but when it's up your downloads aren't reading 30KB/s while you wait for the throttle to end (im assuming you have either hughes or viasat). the lower latency can let you do casual online gaming as a bonus. You can drop them any time if it's particularly sucky

@supercommiebros64 Starlink has a 1TB data cap now (which is still not a problem since I don't even exhaust 30 on my current plan). I do have Viasat and they are a huge pain in the ass. SL is definitely in my top contenders but it's just that devil I don't know compared to the other devils I don't know factor coming in now. Thanks!
