@patrick_h_lauke Idk, after digging into it a bit more, it just seems to reek of "rich white man with too much money who is bored"😅 Seems like the company who was maintaining WinAmp went under and this dude, ex-VP of Toyota Europe and President of Toyota Deutschland bought the brand.I could probably see myself trying the same if I was old and rich and had fond memories of the original WinAmp.

@matt @patrick_h_lauke what's going as "winamp" now is still run by the same people who bought it from aol at the start of 2014.it just gets very messy to follow at times due to the number of rebrands done & buying/selling of themselves back to themselves (including after the brief stint under vivendi) & recent selling of targetspot / shoutcast.afaict the foundation is a side-aspect of the overall group not that it seems to have done anything obvious since it was announced around a year ago.
