Heyo FOSS folks, What is your favorite non-google-infested web browser? So far I've been using LibreWolf for about a year, but it lacks the UI customizations I seek. I've tried degoogled chromium, but the user experience is akin to using a browser that has been lobotomized.

@Graycot I've been using Firefox not because is the best but to "protest" against the chromium-based market of browsers we have! So I would suggest something Firefox based :blobcat3c:

@Graycot I use LibreWolf as a daily driver as well, but I too sometimes like some customizationsHowever, if it's a day where I want customizations it's because I want to remove everything (no/minimal tab bar, no url bar, menus, etc.) ... if I have a day I feel like that I use qutebrowser

@paul @Graycot Yeah, I like the minimalist one as well, I have my whole interface for vivaldi quite tiny, I can't really use qutebrowser at work, since it's windows, but this is pretty nice :)

@paul @Graycot @sotolf You can edit chrome.css or use the tridactyl plugin to remove everything so you can stay with LibreWolf :) Also tridactyl is way more than an "all-bars remover" and primarily offers a vim-like browsing experience like qutebrowser. I've tried the latter 3 times because the author claims that its built-in vim-like browsing solves any plugins' issues/limitations but tridactyl works flawlessly for me and LW also has other advantages compared to QB.

@wwwgem @Graycot @sotolf Tridactyl's pretty cool... yeah, however I've caught it absolutely hammering my CPU on some sites - can't be having that so qutebrowser is my "I want vim bindings today" browser of choice :-)

@paul @Graycot @wwwgem I'm using vimium for vivaldi, and it works well, the vim extensions were so much better before the extensions switched away from XUL :/

@paul @Graycot @sotolf Wow that's weird. I'm lucky to never encountered that. I don't live monitor my CPU load though. I assume you have verified that this is related to tridactyl and not any differences in other plugins/config between the two browsers.

@wwwgem @Graycot @sotolf Yeah, I figured it's probably only me as Tridactyl is really popular. To be honest, it _may_ have been related to me having the browser console open on inspect mode at the same time... which I guess is understandable. But still, I do that a lot so I can't use that plugin effectively... but I still do love Tridactyl XD

@lucifargundam @moisture9776 The browser may be fantastic, but I have to say that is one of the worst websites I have ever had the displeasure of viewing (on mobile). Janky position jumping, scroll hijacking, slow loading and slow animations, too many moving backgrounds, generic lifeless corporate art, ect.

@Graycot I'm an Abrowser fan. It's similar to Librewolf in that it's a Firefox fork with a lot of sketchy stuff removed and with good defaults.

@james @Graycot Yep that's it. You can also get it from the AUR if you're on an Arch based distro.
