@Teri_Kanefield @snork303 It seems, at first glance, to be an equal-protection issue: the government isn't supposed to treat similarly situated parties unequally. I'd be interested in your take on the legal theory. But whatever the theory is, I can't imagine that the NY Times, WaPo, CNN, MSNBC, and probably AP didn't get on the phones to their lawyers about 10 nanoseconds after this story broke. I'd put substantial money on the prospect that there's going to be a lawsuit over this.

I just find it so bizarre that the leader of a political majority in one house---that isn't the executive branch---would have the authority to selectively leak documents with security implications to one specific news outlet. That's such a crazy departure from the rule of law, separation of the legislative and executive branches, and, an insanely partisan thing to do.

@BrentInMasto @Npars01 @snork303 That question is way beyond what I consider my area of expertise (criminal law), but these videos belong to Congress, not the executive branch, so I don't know if Biden can step in and classify them. It doesn't seem to me that he can, but that's a guess. Again, out of my area.
