@cattailnu He’d been marooned on the oasis for seven years now, surviving on fish and edible grains. Finding the orange grove was a pleasant surprise. It made the fish plates more palatable when combined with the wild onions. Tools were limited. Options were few. One day, he knew he would succeed at making a long-lasting fire. But until then, raw orange fish was the menu item of the day.

@cattailnu Shelley was waiting patiently for her guest to arrive. Everything had been prepared exactly. The oranges placed just so, the pilaf with green onions, & the fish. Heaven forbid she would forget the fish. It was the centrepiece of the meal, the one thing her guest said they could not do without. Well, duh, thought Shelley, the recipe was pretty specific & she is superb at following directions. The eye was even looking in the right direction. It seemed, actually, to be looking at her.
