       @apps I don't understand the question, which possibly means it makes no difference. What does this mean to me, a Fedilab and Google Play user? What sort of notifications? App updates? Somebody boosted my toot?

       @appsI have nfty set up at the moment and I originally got Fedilab through Google Play, is that a requirement? I was even considering setting up my own nfty server.

       @apps If you do I recommend a generic message in the notification "Someone followed you" and similar. It's creepy to route data through Google.

       @apps If using #Google #FCM, users should be warned as many would not assume the contents of their "private" conversations and postings were largely going to be fed back to #Google for psychological profiling and manipulation via notifications.Personally I'd prefer to be asked, with a <10 word explanation of the problem with #FCM push notifications and then where to go to get a #UnifiedPush option up and running if they feel like it.Ie educate then let people choose, not just yes/no.
