       @shalf I'm kind of lost as to what Neelie Kroes lobbying for Uber (which of course wasn't correct) had to do with Google sponsoring OKF. Would you like to clarify?

       @ln Certain kind of sponsor attract certain kind of keynote speakers in an event. She was VP of EU Commission in charge of Digital Affairs at the time, and let's say it was kind of a different style of relationships and regulation than e.g. M. Vestager or T. Breton. The point being accepting Google's money and the kind of people it attracts / make run.

       @shalf @ln It's not only that, it's also the #greenwashing of unethical business practises. Imagine ExtinctionRebellion being sponsored by ExxonMobile, thats similar to #Google sponsoring #FOSDEM Do read this excellent piece by @aral about the issue:  https://ar.al/2019/01/11/i-was-wrong-about-google-and-facebook-theres-nothing-wrong-with-them-so-say-we-all/Great that #OFFDEM is there :)
