Concept: a small secondary e-ink display that goes underneath a large wall-mount TV, about the alignment of a museum plaque, to offer supplementary information about what you're watching and metadata as well as volume control feedback, etc.Leave the primary display uncluttered!Bonus: when in The Frame / wall art mode, actually acts as the museum plaque.

@david The only challenge there is getting good content for that frame. I could see it having content like what Amazon has when you hit pause, which includes names of all the actors who are on screen. I could also see subscribing to a separate content provider, but in today's climate, it would have to map to the ideological leanings of the subscribers.

@longobord Good point but start with: name of the content, year of production, what AV source is currently active, channel name and number, volume level? IMDB for a bit more info / metadata? Could imagine closed capitioning on a bar below too to keep the picture unsullied.

@david That sounds reasonable, so long as you could get some kind of key into various players. I can't tell the number of times I bounced between pausing and running a crunchyroll video because the subtitles scrolled too fast, but the pause put text details of what I was watching over the subtitles I was trying to read.
