       Following this. I went through the aggravation of splitting up my Photos library into two-year chunks a while ago, and it’s definitely made things weirder. From: @patchttps://pdx.social/@patc/109893324875357640

       @MikeTRose @patc Two good options are Luminar and Eagle

       @MikeTRose @patc Actually it looks like they discontinued regular Luminar in favor of a new AI driven version https://skylum.com/luminar

       @selfagency @patc I looked at Luminar a while ago; don’t know if I need all the editing capability, just a catalog.

       @MikeTRose @selfagency @patc This might help (I’ve never used it though).https://petapixel.com/2023/02/17/macos-photo-organizer-peakto-is-now-compatible-with-instagram/https://cyme.io/peakto-photo-organizer-software/

       @MikeTRose @patc It’s definitely an issue for many photographers. I was lucky given I started out my “computing career” in databases so I was always organized with my photos - folders with Year then Month then Event, etc. So even though I’m disorganized personally, I’m *very* organized photographically. :)

       @MikeTRose @patc the prior version was an organizer with lightroom style raw developing features. i am unhappy about this change. eagle it is, i guess. https://en.eagle.cool/

       @KingShawn @selfagency @patc nice. In the other thread there is a recommendation for a Monument 2 https://ruby.social/@nat/109893366490512512 https://www.getmonument.com/m2/monument-2-photo-storage-device

       @MikeTRose @patc Thanks for bringing this up, Mike. I'm going to look at QuMagie when I have time -- it's only for QNAP NAS, so it's not for everyone, but when I get a chance I'll let you know what I think. I'm also looking for something to organize photos more than touch them up; I liked Flickr's tagging and other organizational features, but I want to host it locally.

       @MaxH42 @patc I’m leaning towards a NAS-based approach too.

       @MikeTRose @MaxH42 Yeah, i was playing around with the Synology demo, too, but it looks like it doesn’t do object detection, just people, and the QNAP one does.https://www.synology.com/en-global/dsm/feature/photos
