       @wnknisely I think your intuition is correct. Unlike a centralized social network, any given Mastodon instance only has access to content fetched by its users. Also while twit.social has turned on ElasticSearch, not all intances do. https://docs.joinmastodon.org/admin/optional/elasticsearch/

       @leo Thanks - that’s helpful information to share with the administrators of the other instance.I expect it’s going to be a while till we all figure out best practices in setting these up. And especially since the servers are undergoing significant development. (Hooray for Open Source!)I haven’t had this much fun since the old UseNet days (or maybe even with my old BBS?)
