@MencianLegalism @anornymorse For sure, there are a lot of things like that, we didn't have a war in Europe when Trump was president, inflation was much lower, gas prices were lower, there was less BS government regs and spending. Maybe it's all a honeypot for the boomers though.

@MencianLegalism @anornymorse The US financial system has inputs and outputs. Money goes in, value comes out. The value, for those that control the financial system, is the ability to control real resources; innovations in medical science, people's labor, trade contracts, etc. For the non-elites, they get bread and circuses and eroded civil liberties. This didn't seem to change from 2016-2020 in a tangible way. The extraction accelerated under the Dems, but it's the same shit different color.

@iwaszerocool @anornymorse I mean changing the US financial system wasn't really on the table, that's not what Trump was about.It's a system. It relies on foreign manufacturers paying tribute to us, but so far they actually want to pay tribute, possibly more than we want to accept it. The Marxists use the word "surplus" but I personally find it to be a dirty word, even if it does capture the essence that this economic output is unwanted by the producer.

@MencianLegalism @anornymorse Economic reform is required for any other meaningful reform, Trump claimed to be a reformer, hence he was a charlatan. He did move the needle in the right direction, but he certainly doesn't deserve the hero worship, in my humble opinion.
