@seldo I’ve been reflecting on the different responses and find myself inadvertently splaining people when I see their posts out of context. I feel like part of the pattern is that client apps here are lacking some sorts of context or familiarity that tamped down on some of the Well Actually behaviors.

@seldo As a data point, I actually have a much higher rate here of me having a random post go viral and having random nazis slinging transphobia at me. It’s also been much harder to deal with after the fact, since there have been shenanigans like “a well-meaning bystander reports a post to a server adminned by nazis, which causes them to assume I reported it and then actively encourage even more targetted harassment”
