The more people I observe, the more I am convinced that "person who always had a relatively safe and traumaless life and as a result has a very low tolerance for discomfort and lashes out at everything" is simply not a real group of people that exists. In general, people who dealt with less pain and humiliation in childhood tend to be better adjusted and less easily distressed by casual aggression and misfortune. Meanwhile people with large traumas tend to have some very specific triggers that can be set off by things universally regarded as petty and unimportant. But these things are harder to recognize because they vary from person to person.

@comrade_lecter It's also just impossible to go through life without some level of hardship. We view our own challenges in the context of our experiences, so a negative experience that's objectively not a very big deal will feel extremely significant to someone who has lived a very sheltered and easy life
