@icecubesapp Perhaps a setting for the user to enable/disable the fetching of new posts in the background. I prefer to fetch new posts only when I pull down the timeline from the top. Fantastic job on this app!

@icecubesapp @mark No, but I think a few menus could be less crowded, more rounded, font size more adjusted in certain parts, a few icons that are not necessary etc. The little things that make an app feel polished over time 🙏

@icecubesapp I’m definitely looking forward to Ice Cubes for Mac. In combination with the iOS version would it beat everything out there if cloud sync is done. I think, Mona can already do that already.But I’d also have another feature request for a Mac version already. 🤣I have asked Eugen Rochko about adding a central reading position made accessible to apps, which would eliminate the need for apps to sync, but unfortunately have received no answer yet.

@icecubesapp Displaying the timeline with the latest at the *bottom*. The latest-at-top convention is so unfortunate. But especially for Mastodon. Fediverse posts can be really long and it sucks to have to scroll up to the top of a post just to have to scroll down to read the whole thing. You’d be celebrated worldwide!

@icecubesapp Better performance and UI refinements would go a long way for me.Timeline scrolling is really jittery and lags severely when jumping to the top of the post list. There’s also some animation glitches when the button appears to vote on a pole or when you try to swipe away a picture upwards instead of downwards.Also I’d really like the ability to have it always show me the most recent post when I open the app as I always like to start at the most recent and work backwards rather than start where I left off and have to scroll up through hundreds of unread posts.

@icecubesapp Not sure if this is just a limit of Mastodon itself but I've noticed that when refreshing the homepage it loads sequentially in chunks of 200 posts. Would be nice to just pop to the most recent post on the homepage. Being able to boost a post from different accounts could also be a nice feature. Also seeing trending posts in hashtags and in daily and weekly time frames could be a nice edition.

@icecubesapp easy navigation between instances (browser style). Showing all hashtag results for a specific instance (like tracking some big event from a big instance). Being able to fetch all replies for a thread (#Mastodon limitation: often shows only a fraction, depending on what your instance ‘knows’). Showing all posts of a profile (related to previous). I wish Mastodon itself had better support for the above, but client side can help.

@icecubesapp I had to come back for one more idea. Preferences for post visibility - when I post something NEW to my account, or a reply to one of my own original posts, I want it to be public. But when I'm just replying to someone else's posts, I honestly prefer those to be set as "Unlisted". Having defaults for those would be helpful.
