This is not about books, law, or politics (it's almost like I need a disclaimer, right?)Landscape design.I already showed an intermediary photo.Image #1: Disaster. The bamboo had to come out. No privacy.Image #2: Wah-lah. I designed it. My husband (who is also my technical support staff) built it and moved the stuff. Basically I did all the work except for the sawing, hammering, nailing, building, and *schlepping š *my Ashkenazi origins are showing

@FmrlyProudBuk_I . . . is that I volunteer my time to help Chris. Currently, I pay to maintain a website so my readers have access to my work.I do not monetize. I absorb the costs.A few months ago, when Chris announced that he was building a new platform (that he didn't actually build) I asked him to consider federating.If he federated (instead of creating a walled garden) his users would have access to millions of accounts.He wasn't interested in that.

@FmrlyProudBuk_I Bouzy is "inviting" is journalists to go to Spoutible because his users are "hungry" for news.But anyone can get an RSS feeder and get all the news they want.From his postings, it seems he thought that he'd move his entire Twitter following to Spoutible and within weeks he'd have the next Twitter. Right now, I just don't have a good feeling about it.If the site does become the next Twitter, of course, I will open an account, but it's hard for me to see that happening.

@FmrlyProudBuk_I Another tell is that people keep telling me that they are creating a wonderful "community" on Spoutible.That is the same way people described Counter Social to me.Twitter wasn't a wonderful community. It was a global platform.If Bouzy is creating a wonderful community, it isn't clear how he will finance it because banner ads will not bring in enough revenue.I think he anticipated a global platform.

@FmrlyProudBuk_I No apologies! Also, I could be totally wrong. This isn't law, it's just a gut feeling about where this is all going.Maybe keep your Spoutible account and see where it goes. Also keep me posted.What happened here in November was that almost everyone I followed on Twitter created accounts. Then many drifted back to Twitter or decided to focus on Substack newsletters. So Spoutible could have a burst, but with most large accounts are just cross posting.
