Despite what the name might suggest, berserker.town is not about vikings or paganism, and we have no plans of raiding the monastery in Lindisfarne anytime soon. The name was chosen because it's memorable and the owner is from Norway.

@blobfrog how dare you!but in all seriousness, the vikings from Norway weren't particularly into raiding in the first place. when they went sailing, they mostly explored places. adventurers and traders more than warriors.

@blobfrog this history is one of the reasons Alfred Nobel wanted the Peace Prize to be awarded by Norway - not Sweden, like the rest of the prizes.

@Jens_Rasmussen @blobfrog some Norwegians did work as guards/mercenaries in Constantinople if my memory serves me right - it's not like they were peace-loving hippies exactly - but you tend to find a lot more Danes when you start checking who did most of the raiding

@Jens_Rasmussen @blobfrog maybe the Danes were more numerous at the time, but some of this is probably also due to geography - most of Norway's coastline faces the North Sea and the Atlantic - areas that were either uninhabited or unexplored by Europeans
