I was laying down and about to go to sleep when the little pop up said that the library was sending “Neuromancer” into my reader. And moments later, the sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel.

@tek one of my favorite book series ever. Love the world building and all the ideas and concepts it presents. If I may, If you haven't read it yet, I would like to recommend you the Nexus series. The author used to work as a programmer, so he knows his stuff and it shows in the books, in the descriptions of technology.

@tek@freeradical.zone "the sky above the port was the color of television, tuned to a dead channel." a few days ago i was thinking just how overwhelmingly good this phrase has aged. and will probably continue to age in the same way.

@purple It’s fantastic. And it’s different now — “the sky was an artificial, polluted blue that would look cheerful if it wasn’t such a sign that we’ve ruined everything” — but still completely relevant.
