sometimes when I think of my time on mastodon it feels like communicating with aliens through candle signal. The view is beautiful and the company is good, but dam ,it's cold sometimes and the wait for an on-topic response seems parsecs wide while your hope burns away.But another night comes and you light another candle the aliens come carrying some matches n a candle .You talk your way into the wonderfully normal crossroads of past futures and present yesterdays. And it's great !

@Atexjam It's funny, I like it here because I can be my weird self. Some days I'm very withdrawn. Others, I'm very interactive. Depends on my pain levels, health issues, and whatever the folks on Alpha Centauri are doing, I guess. No one's dinged me for it, tho, so, cool?

@Atexjam Such an apt description. This is the nicest, most interesting place we've been for ages, but it can certainly be a bit lonely for all that.We here aren't sure what to make of that, apart maybe from the fact that it may just be the human condition (as well as the condition of several terrestrial and extraterrestrial species).
