And here we go with people chiming in here with comments that amount to: "It will teach people a lesson for using SMS for 2FA if their accounts are hacked. HAHAHAH!" Makes me sick.

@laurenI have a couple online accounts where 2FA via SMS is the only 2FA method offered and I use it because it's better than nothing.When Twitter launched “Login Verification” in 2013 SMS was the only option then. The people who enabled it were taking the best possible action! Using an authenticator app wasn't even possible until 4 years later. @lauren everyone learns things at different times and paces. Empathy is a must, it cant all be “I knew that already, therefore everyone should have known it, or deserve what they get” - that way leads to more terrible things
