@Curtis I have a few Curtis, but my favourites;- one that silences my Apple Watch when I get to work - one that sends a message with my location and ETA when I lie she the office to my partner so they know to be ready for a pick-up. - one that tells my partner Iām outside their work without me having to. - one that turns my Apple Watch back to loud at home - also have one that gets around website paywalls Just a few of them š

@nickycolman @Curtis my favourite one is a nap time setup. Put my phone on sleep focus and sets a timer for a configurable number of minutes.

@nickycolman I have a shortcut that opens a menu when I start my workout, cycling, or walking. It starts the respective workout on the Apple Watch and opens the Fitbod app for the gym or the Komoot app for cycling.

@awesomeknight oh I like that idea. I had one for everytime I opened Apple Fitness, it activated Silent Mode and DND. But I think it got broke when I used a beta and Iāve never fixed it.

@nickycolman What about āWake upā with things that normally should get started in your home. For me itās turning on lights/scenes, put them on instant on, start music on certain HomePods.

@awesomeknight @nickycolman I feel like I'm under leveraging shortcuts. My biggest pet peeve is that my iPhone needs to be unlocked for a homepod to execute a shortcut š¤ - cause then I may as well use my phone!

@fawkes @nickycolman It depends on what you want to do. Does the shortcut involve your Home app (like controling lights)? Then the automation can start by a trigger like time.

@awesomeknight hmm well some of them are home automations done via the Home app so Iāve not really considered them as Shortcuts (even though they are the same thing, really). I have lights which turn on at sunset, plugs that turn off when I leave/return home and thatās about it. We rent so smart home stuff is a little more restricted.

@nickycolman @fawkes Also Iād like to add: When you are in the Shortcuts app, go to the Automation card. There you can add Personal Automations which are indeed shortcuts starting automatically without you having to start them.Those shortcuts can be triggered by time, location, or when things happen like when you connect to a wifi network, when you receive an email, when NFC is detected, and a lot more.

@connor ah Iāve just checked and the paywall one no longer works! Itās been a while since I used it but it relied on bouncing the content of the original website into another site. That second site is now just adverts and doesnāt load the content!I think I got it from Reddit originally. Iāll see if I can find an update
