Little question.. How come the DirectionalLight is not working here? Only partial but it should light up the entire room at least 🤔 #UnrealEngine5

@stux Because it's coming in through the window instead of the light source being inside the room.

@stux My memory is a little rusty but I think it's that you're directing the sunlight rather than a light inside the room

@blueberrywerewolf I think so yes! But im watching this tutorial video ( :blobcatgiggle: ) and the dude places a direction light aka sunlight and indeed you have to turn it a bit for the 'sun to come' but with him the entire room is lit and with me its still pretty dark :blobcatgiggle: Somewhere im doing something wrong

@stux Okay yeah that's it I think. The lightbulb thingy is a light source like a lamp, the sun thingy is the light from the skybox

@stux I'm not familiar with Unreal in particular, but with 3d in general, you'll need to look for 'ambient light' or 'bounce light' settings currently the only thing the directional will light up is exactly what it lands on, which currently appears to be just what lines up with the windows in your scene here.

@stux @chriszuko the sad thing about all 3d rendering programs is that you have to use multiple lights to mimic real light. turn on your ambient light and add some point lights

@stux That sounds right! I haven't done much with Lumen so I'm not too sure about how it works. Last time I messed around with anything was when 5 was just about to launch.

@stux I would definitely do a primer on lighting. This is a pretty extensive but also really good for getting started with unreal's lighting quirks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSbBsXbjxPoHope that helps!
