       maybe if the AI technology can fool journalists who know they are talking to a computer, rather than mocking journalists, we should take that as a huge red flag that it will also be able to fool most normal people who don’t know they are talking to a computer, but what do I know.

       quit approaching this technology like its purpose is to produce truth or intelligence. it isn’t. its purpose is to fool people, and it is **very** good at that.

       wondering if an analogy to crypto might someday be apt, where they both turn out to be not particularly useful for everyday human or business applications, but they are **very** useful for committing crimes.

       @peter The main mocking I see seems to be of someone who wasn't even fooled but just wrote about and posted his bizarre conversation with Bing's chatbot, showing that it went it unexpected directions that clearly could be dangerous for vulnerable people.

       @peter I already have found it useful. Never saw any reason to use crypto. I’m not saying there aren’t major issues to work out re AI, but it’s absolutely going to be useful for non crimes.
