I'll spare you my selfies, but rest assured that the front camera works, too. All pictures are being taken in 1600x1200px, and the viewfinder is not too fast. Video recording is possible in theory, but not really in practice - but it will only improve from here.

@linmob Do you have any links about how to try this?

@thomzane Install Mobian, then install Pinhole, run it - that's all I had to do.

@linmob Thank you! This is the pinhole repository? https://github.com/piggz/harbour-pinhole/

@thomzane No, that's an app for SailfishOS. This is the fork where important work happened AFAIK: https://gitlab.gnome.org/rmader/camera I called it Pinhole because that was the projects initial name (it was the first somewhat working GTK GUI PinePhone camera) and it's how the package in Debian is called: https://repology.org/project/pinhole/versions

@linmob @thomzane I think there's some confusion here, "camera" from either Robert's https://gitlab.gnome.org/rmader/camera forkend from https://gitlab.gnome.org/jwestman/camera is a GTK application written in Vala, while Adam Pigg's pinehole is a Qt camera application developed for sailfish at https://github.com/piggz/harbour-pinhole/Looking at this https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/pinhole seems debian packagers have mixed the two ?@awai @rmader

@thomzane Oh, I forgot one obvious step: Bring it fully up to date (sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade).

@jmondi @thomzane @rmader @linmob well, the thing is "camera" wasn't an acceptable name for a debian package (too generic), so back when creating the initial package jwestman proposed the package should be named "pinhole" instead, and it stuck... then piggz created "harbour-pinhole", and now it's admittedly confusing 😉
