@nickycolman Beautiful. That bench by the changing rooms is lovely. Love the way they've been so deliberate with the lighting throughout. 🤩Nicely photographed too I might add. 🙂

@nickycolman Have they ever had any customers in there? I’ve never seen a shop so tidy. It’s usually like this.

@nickycolman V nice indeed. Do you happen to know who did the shop design?

@nickycolman I wish they would design their sweatshops that way...

@pandapoo I know, it feels like a cocoon when you walk in. Very natural with the undulating walls and soft lightening. Compare that to other stores which is an all out assault on the senses 🫣😵💫

@galand2dogs I don’t! I’d love to find out. And then demand a tour of their home. 😂

@awesomeknight haha maybe not. Although, it might be psychological: if it looks tidy and presentable when people go in, they can find what they want and don’t need to rake and rummage?

@nickycolman I'd love to see a greater trend toward creating safe/cosy/take-your-time spaces for premium retail going forward. We can ‘buy things’ online any time so increasingly that's not what physical retail's purpose is anymore – purely functional.Make retail a delightful experience and it gives people a reason to go and shop in person.Obviously doesn't work for low-margin operations to invest like this though so probably only Apple and WHSmith who can afford to do it at scale. 😉

@nickycolman I was exaggerating a bit. I wish shops would look like that. Often it’s also part of the concept but in Zara’s case it’s not really their intention to look like a 1£ shop.

@pandapoo I mean, WHSmith are the thought-leaders in store design. But you are right, I think shops have to be more considerate of what people want in order to lure them in. It’s a two-way transaction: give me a nice, calm, welcoming space and I’ll reward you with my £. Give me a landfill site and I’ll walk on!
