I can't help but think there's something inherently wrong with #logseq. There's a heavy abstraction layer on top of markdown and as a result, your files are barely usable without the app. Why not use something like sqlite at that point? They made an awful compromise and ended up with something that is neither markdown nor a real DB.On the other hand, #obsidian is clunkier, but I can open my folder in a text editor and not drown in irrelevant metadata and generated ids.

@0xSimIf you perform a t>o shortcut on a page you can expand all blocks, the collapsed:: true properties are removed from Markdown files. The other metadata property I’m aware of is heading:: true for auto-heading but I use that only for pages serving as indexes. The rest is properties the user adds intentionally.

That's a shame because I want to like #Logseq (it's definitely a good outliner), but I can't tie my "second brain" to a particular software. It would be awesome if Logseq and Obsidian could really work hand-in-hand on the same folder, but that's definitely not the case.

@0xSim This is the reason I use #Obsidian, even thought I rather dislike this type of software (highly customizable over tailored etc.).Ability to read most important info from a raw MD note on my phone is something very valuableAlso: I am pretty confident I will be able to feel nostalgic and read my old notes 30 years from now even if all those startups fail over the time. Nothing trumps pure text files 😅

@beetrootpaul @0xSimFYI this is how a page from #Logseq documentation (it’s a Logseq graph itself) looks like when rendered by GitHub:https://github.com/logseq/docs/blob/master/pages/Knowledge%20Graph.mdIt looks readable enough to me; also Logseq being FOSS means I will always be able to run it and even modify its source code for the years to come; the company just leads the development but the tool in itself and your ability to read your note are not tied to the company at all.

(why I do not use Obsidian mobile app is another story of the app and its setup being practically unusable)
