       lol, lmao.No but seriously fuck voice actors in general not even regarding AI stuff. They've always been a parasite on the game industry. They weren't there in the beginning, and they wont be there in the end. Totally optional, unnecessary and that's not even talking about how they can now be totally replaced by AI. SAG-AFTRA can fuck off back to Hollywood where they belong.

       @crunklord420 how long before we can just easily engineer a unique voice, just like we can generate a unique face? Now we don't even have to license their voices even without their acting.How long before we don't even need actors in movies? We can just create unique characters, no more film, just animation indistinguishable from film.Did you know the "movie star" concept was created by Hollywood in the early 20th century because they had to create lore around the people so as not to destroy immersion due to recycling faces? If you see the same guy in 3 movies you are not immersed, but if the actor and the glamour (literally and figuratively, it's insane what they do to our perceptions of reality) are part of the draw, you don't mind forgetting that you're watching some dude pretend. It also happens to be their main hold on culture, and soon it won't be necessary at all, it will be cheaper even to not pay a well known face and create one from scratch. Hollywood is dying and I love to see it.

       Voice acting is an art, trained through years of practice and huge equipment investments.Nigga you need a medium sized room and a $100 voice recorder to train.  Don’t come crying because you got fleeced by some “influencer” to buy the Home Studio Recorder Package(tm) at your local Best Buy.If he means to record, yeah, actual studio equipment can cost a lot.  But voice actors don’t buy that, recording studios do.  They get paid “fucking peanuts” because the capital expense is on the game dev’s part, and they’re just hourly labor.I know the hot new thing is for already-successful VAs to set up their own home studio, so they can freelance without flying to studios because they’re wearing masks like good little jabbed cattle.  But (1) that’s not necessary and (2) you can do that for like $2k in materials if you already have a room with a computer.
