These IP addresses are among many continuously attacking random hosts using what looks to me like WordPress-specific hacks. I don't see a pattern, but maybe someone else will.74.125.248.8474.125.248.8574.125.248.8662.210.27.7374.125.248.90117.134.10.233159.69.24.6074.125.248.10774.125.248.8774.125.248.10635.226.184.5092.247.181.45137.184.143.186159.223.155.20934.132.181.13035.222.191.19234.67.98.222104.197.172.22534.28.46.5834.173.110.934.27.201.9935.223.148.161

@timbray Highly recommend fail2ban as a countermeasure against things like this.

@lwndow @timbray I gave up on crowdsourced blacklists long ago. My experience, in the context of email spam, is that eventually the admin has a tantrum and ends up blocking all of AWS or some shit.

@jwz @lwndow Hmm interesting. Given the structure of the Fediverse, with thousands of instances, and the fact that brand-new troll instances pop up regularly, it'd be nice to have some sort of shared-block capability.

@timbray @jwz @lwndow isn't that what #Fediblock attempts to do?

@aaron @timbray @jwz @lwndow Fediblock does, #fediblock doesn't. The distinction is that one is a centrally controlled Blocklist and one is an information resource.
