Machu Picchu is truly a memorable site. It sits high up in the mountains and just a magical place. Have you been to Machu Picchu? How did you like it? https://ift.tt/dVvmZ8w

@backpackandsnorkel You are right #MachuPicchu is a magical place and to get there on foot via the #IncaTrail is absolutely life changing and to have been able to do that in my mid 60's was miraculous.

@HikerSelma Fantastic - we did not dare taking the trail. Instead, we took Inca Rail to get there and we absolutely loved Machu Picchu.

@backpackandsnorkel Well, it’s memorable NOW, but there was a pretty decent stretch of time when people forgot all about it.

@curmudgeonaf And that was probably a good thing. No people = no destruction. Nowadays it is overrun by tourists.

@backpackandsnorkel Yeah, humans tend to do that a lot. Overrunning places (and the people who live there)
