       @kingsley Nikki Haley knows she can't win on her own. But she can make an awful lot of noise and draw an unreasonable amount of media attention, vying for a VP position. If DeSantis wins the nom, he'll likely select her for his running mate and that could be the Rep's best odds at a winning ticket (not an endorsement, just a prediction). That said I believe Biden will win a 2nd term.

       @kingsley these kinds of runs are pure name-recognition, book-selling scams. If by some miracle she get the golden ticket, that's great for her. If she loses and just gets famouser that's also great for her.

       @baruch @kingsley The only "evidence" cited in this alleged fact-check consists of statements from Haley or her staff. The one concrete piece of documentation referenced is her high school yearbook, which lists her full name. USA Today may be right, but they don't come close to proving it.

So, we can think of these types as folk that is merely considering what are the latest population's "fashion" (e.g., what's trending).Generally, they think like business people selling products to the masses. And that generally takes two forms of approaches.1. Say what the voters want to hear (sell the product they want)Or, and -2. Try to *manipulate the voters (sell the "product" using deception. e.g., greenwash).*The reason why it's manipulation rather than influence - is that some politicians will sell a political narrative that is against the voter's own political and economic interests. Billionaires didn't become rich by promoting social equity (quite the opposite - on average. Of course, some rich folk do try to do some good with their money)
