If we can make a VR rig just for Bigscreen then why can't we make a VR rig just for the web?

@trevorflowers at this point considering it "just" because it's not BigTech. Also waiting for the Lynx...

@utopiah @trevorflowers Oh, read any comments under any ChromeOS device review. It's the "just" all over... "Why would I buy a device that can do 'just' when I can buy a 'real'?" ... Even now that ChromeOS supports Android, Linux and even Windows.

@ondra @utopiah Yes, it seems unwise to glom single-purpose appliances in with general purpose PCs. I don't want my dish washer to also wash my socks.

@trevorflowers @utopiah I often sarcastically reply that I only use a Swiss army knife to eat my meals. Why would I buy just a simple knife when this can do so much more? Less is often more, if you need it just for one thing the rest is just a nuisance at best.However, open web-only appliances are really at a disadvantage against closed-platform devices which can vendors sell at loss and recoup costs by taxing purchases of locked-in customers (and/or sell their data).

@ondra @utopiah I understand the situation we're in.
