       Hi Mastodon! I do research on #misinformation #fakenews #socialmedia & #polarization at MIT. For example, I've found that(i) people online are often distracted from thinking about accuracy s/t shifting attention back to accuracy increases the quality of news shared - see for example https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-021-03344-2(ii) the wisdom of crowds can be harnessed to identify misinfo at scale - see for example https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.abf4393I mostly post about new research on those topics, and occasionally about #punkrock bands.
