Ha! Our neighbors finally removed the swimming pool they bought past summer🥲 “one time use”.. I told my gf at the time: “wanna bet it’s still there in winter” Those people don’t care about anything

A little contrast:One garden is from our elderly neighbor who can barley walk but does it still on his own and the graden from our 31yr old neighbor who doesn’t care about anything but parties

@stux I'm 33 and my garden looks like the 31 year old's 😬.In my defence I'm doing a ton of renovation. Hopefully my neighbours are reassured that what's cluttering it up at least changes week to week.

@stux Shopping trolley full of garbage is a nice touch, it really elevates it from garden to junkyard.

@stux Gardenshaming isn't nice. Our garden looks like a mess too, but it's partly because it's better for nature (a lot of weeds are good for insects) and partly because we don't have time or energy left (we have 2 small children), so we also rather party than work in the garden. (The garbage is bad though).

@stux I try to keep my garden in a good shape (or, at least, as good as possible) but surely was in a better condition with the old owner, a 80+ years old woman. She spent the whole day there, removing any single leaf she could find. She had much more spare time than I have and that garden was her passion.Maybe, when I'll be old, this garden will get back to its old greatness. For now, I do as much as I can :)

@stux I agree. Unfortunately, it's not always like this, but I try to keep at least this standard. I haven't enough time (or energy) to do everything I'd like to. Sometimes it looked like the (bad) picture you posted, but... 😀

@stux I feel personally attacked! To give you the details: it is my housemate who collects garbage, I myself am just functionally impaired. No parties, but a lot of animals. Now I will dream of pics of our mess published by my dear neighbors. Thank you!

@stux That is something that gives me big feels. That little chunk of private-nature means the world to me. Probably more than many, being trans in a monastery town of 1,800 roman catholics. These apartments have a bit of a green strip in the back, but nobody on the whole block does anything with it.4 layers of rotted bamboo curtain, 6 bags of compost, 50 pounds of limestone later. -We have a peace similar to our neighbors across the fence. The critters love it! :blobcatcoffee:

@stux Oh trust me, they are the bestest neighbors.I may be just gothy enough it doesn't affect me like most.Actually, it's kinda cool in there. It's the original cemetery for the town. They moved to a different space later, but this has all the town's founders and families.Old stones, some weird ones too

@stux one probably thinks forest bathing is a way to connect with nature while the other knows clean simple, small green parcels can renew the soul just as easily in a city.
