I saw this story about a right wing parents' group called "woke busters" who were basically serving as the activist boots on the ground for Ron DeSantis's efforts to purge Florida's schools of the supposed scourge of "wokeness." Of course the group presents itself as an innocuous "moms" group or just "concerned parents." They want to fend off books and ideas they associate with "activism," so of course they do that through...activism? But it's not activism if you're conservative and white, apparently.

In the mid-2010s John Carpenter had to go to great lengths to explain that his film was NOT ABOUT THE JEWISH CONSPIRACY TO RULE THE WORLD. I just find it difficult to believe that anti-woke parents are the baddies here. The baddies are the sick fucks how seem to think it's okay to teach 2~4 graders about the 100 genders and sexual preferences.The very opening statement is enough to set the tone that the OP views conservatives as a problem, and goes on to put a "lot of stuff" in "quotes" (showing that they don't know how to use "quotation marks") ... The group is trying to ban internationally acclaimed children's books as being inappropriate for children. Their stated criteria (from their own documents) are explicitly more the the simple consideration of gender.

It's because of books like "Gender Queer" that's making its way into school libraries. Here's an actual photo from the actual fucking book.This is why parents are concerned. This is what's making its way into primary schools. So tell me, which "Internationally acclaimed children's books" are being banned, because I didn't see any actual book names in the article. It's supposed to be this wishy-washy, feel-good, affirming, <insert prog-allowed adjective here>.But it's not.It's just a story of the author's life from childhood but there's no victories and happy stories. Her parents permissiveness sets her up to be an oddball outcast and form there nothing improves and just gets worse and worse.She catches up to her current situation where she's in all kinds of drugs, with no companionship, and panic attacks when she's reminded that she's got an uterus that requires medical attention....and that's it. Then the book ends. It just ends.
