I really don't understand reactions to personal vulnerability that involve meticulous curation of all stimuli that you're exposed to. This relies upon the consent (or restriction) of literally everyone else who may ever come into contact with you, and no matter what delusional beliefs you hold about your ability to control society, you'll never achieve it.Isn't it better to focus on self-adaptation so that you are no longer so vulnerable?

@sumire-chan I do agree, but any solution involving curation of exposure to stimuli is imperfect and potentially exhausting to implement. You're right, of course, in that there's no "harm" in deciding that something is a tiring waste of our time and opting out of engaging with it, but if we will be reduced to a state of gibbering powerlessness by mere exposure, then as soon as anything gets through the barrier it's going to hurt us. This is not by any means ideal.
