@trick Hi, I believe in automatic deletion as a way of good pro-privacy practice. I like Mastodon and other microblogging networks for that principle of ephemerality, you don't have to worry about whether in two or three years they will reuse your posts to offend you or to dox you (and so many other things).Unfortunately it doesn't work on large instances, I had a bug and reported it on Github to which a developer answered me that he was thinking for small production, without compromising the server resources... now it doesn't work on large nodes, a pity.

@trick I didn't do that until now. But maybe I'll delete some of my less popular posts manually to free up storage

@trick Yes. I post a lot and even though I contribute to my instance Admin, I know I take up a lot of resources. I still keep all my posts with 5 or more boosts or favorites though.

@g@trick It's not just large instances. My previous instance had about 100 users, and none of my posts were ever deleted there despite me setting my deletion period to 2 weeks.

@jbe That was what one of its developers told me. Apparently the novelty got out of hand.An interesting novelty that was well received and now it doesn't work hahaha. @trick
