@boilingsteam I developed PicPlanner as a hobby project. It is an app to calculate the position of the sun moon and milky way. The idea is to have an app which helps photographers figuring out the perfect time and location for a picture of the sunset for example.It is available via Flathub therefore it runs on the Steam Deck out of the box 😄

@boilingsteam I think it isn't that much of a niche. Similar apps on the Google Play store have around 100k to 1m downloads and cost around 10$. I used such an app before but I am not using Google services anymore therefore I started to write this app 😄

It's a GPL'd full-wave electromagnetic field solver that simulates Maxwell's equations in 3D space via the finite-difference method, originally developed at University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. If all things go well, I expect to see a 30% speedup, which can save some time in a large simulation run.The practical applications of this kind of simulations include the design of antennas, and also high-speed digital circuit boards above 1 GHz, such as evaluating signal integrity of USB and PCIe interconnects in modern computers.

@boilingsteam I ordered in August 2019 😄I mainly ordered to support the software development and I think Purism is doing a great job on this side.If I am happy with the Librem 5 when it arrives I don't think that I will also by a Pinephone Pro.

@boilingsteam We have an active collaboration with Kubuntu notably thanks to Rik Mills and I'd say we share more than 90% of the packaging code.With other distros we participate in KDE's distributions@ mailing list where the first distro to encounter an issue with new upstream releases will usually notify the others.
